2D1N BANYUWANGI ITENERARY : Baluran, Ijen and De Djawatan

Hello you guys from Banyuwangi, East Java ✋ Have you been there?

Well, My friends and I only spent 2 days 1 night here, which is so short but tried to explore as much as we can hehe.

HOW TO GET THERE

We drove from Bali to Banyuwangi by a car. It is not so far that only took us about 4 hours in total to get there. Which is only 3 hours drive from Denpasar to the Gilimanuk harbour and 1 hour transfer by a boat from Gilimanuk to Ketapang Harbour Banyuwangi. Then here it is, we arrived in Banyuwangi in just 4 hours.

PANDEMIC SITUATION

As we travel in this pandemic situation, we must take care of the health protocol and should get tested for Covid-19. There are sereval option for covid-19 test, such as Genose and Swab Antigen. Genose test cost us IDR40.000 per test and the Swab Antigen is about IDR150.000-200.000. We def chose the cheapest one - Genose Test.

The test is only took us less than 5 minutes and we need to wait for the test result in about 15 minutes. We get tested in the harbour.

WHERE TO GO

As you know, Banyuwangi is famous for these 3 must-go places :

1. Mountain Ijen (Ijen Crater)

Ijen Crater View from the top

Ijen's scenery is so awesome. You can enjoy the exotic green crater and active sulfur spots, also you can see another mountains from here including Mount Merapi and Mount Raung.

Here's some things you need to know before hiking Mount Ijen:
πŸ’š You must book your ticket online on website : tiket.bbksdajatim.org and pay later on the spot.

πŸ’š Ijen's height is 2.386 meters above sea level. It takes around 2 hours hike.

πŸ’š During this new normal, you are only allowed to hike started at 3 A.M

πŸ’š You cannot walk down to the crater to get closer to bluefire. The access is still closed.

πŸ’š The temperature is around 12 C and it is windy at the top. Better wear warm clothes.

2. Baluran National Park

Baluran National Park with mountain view

Also known as Little Africa Van Java, this place is very dry and hot (at that time) and mainly consists of Savanna. Here you can see wildlife animals, like monkey, deer and cow. The Savanna itself is also amazing, you can take photos with a nice mountain as the background. Not only animals and savanna, there is a beach near this park - Bama Beach.

Quick stop to Bama Beach

WHERE TO STAY

We chose to stay in Harmoni Guest House. Its location is strategic since it's only 10-15 minutes away from the harbour and also located in the main city which is easy for us to get our needs. The hotel is clean, has a good facility, good service and ofc good price. We pay for IDR 210.000 per room for 2 persons.

But if you have more budget and you search for a refreshing and leisure vacation, i recommend you to stay in Dialoog Hotel. Go check it out!
